Jurong Lake District (JLD) is a transformative development in the western part of Singapore, envisioned to become the country’s largest commercial and mixed-use district outside the traditional central business area. Spanning 360 hectares, it is set to be the focal point of growth in the west, providing a new hub for business, leisure, and residential living. The district is expected to serve as Singapore’s second Central Business District (CBD), complementing the main CBD in Marina Bay.

Jurong Lake District is divided into two main precincts:

1. Lakeside: Primarily designed as a residential and recreational area, Lakeside will focus on creating a livable environment with proximity to nature. Connectivity

One of the key aspects of Jurong Lake District is its excellent connectivity. It will be linked to other parts of Singapore through several major transport networks:

• The Jurong East MRT station serves as a major interchange, connecting the North-South and East-West MRT lines.
• The upcoming Jurong Region Line (JRL) and Cross Island Line (CRL) will further enhance connectivity, making the district easily accessible from various parts of Singapore.
• High-Speed Rail (HSR): Although the HSR project between Singapore and Malaysia has been postponed, the district was originally planned to host the Singapore terminus of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail, which would have further boosted its connectivity to Malaysia. The site reserved for the HSR still holds potential for future development.
• Road network: The district is well-connected to major highways, such as the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) and Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), ensuring smooth access to other regions of Singapore.

Jurong Lake District is positioned as a leader in green urban living and sustainable development. The district will integrate various green initiatives, including:

• Energy-efficient buildings: New developments will be required to meet high standards of energy efficiency, reducing the district’s carbon footprint.
